Hammelburg District Court
The Hammelburg District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1973 and was based in Hammelburg, Lower Franconia .
history
An older Bavarian regional court had existed since 1819 . With the entry into force of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Hammelburg, the district of which was composed of the municipalities of the previous district of Hammelburg . The higher-level instances were the Schweinfurt Regional Court and the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .
With effect from July 1, 1973, the district courts of Bad Kissingen , Münnerstadt , Hammelburg and Brückenau were merged to form the district court of Kissingen. Demands to move the district court for the district of Bad Kissingen , which was newly created as part of the municipal reform of 1972, to Hammelburg were not implemented.
Courthouse
The former district court is a two-wing building complex with two-story, plastered hipped roof or half-hipped roof buildings in the forms of the reduced historicism by Anton Schick from 1912.
