Volkach District Court

The Volkach District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1966 and was based in Volkach, Lower Franconia .

With the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Volkach, the district of which was formed from the previous district of Volkach and consequently the towns of Astheim , Dimbach , Düllstadt , Eichfeld , Escherndorf with Vogelsburg , Fahr with Elgersheim , Gaibach with Hallburg and Öttershausen , Gernsbach , Järkendorf , Koehler , Kolitzheim with Wadenbrunn , Krautheim with Wenzel mill , foliage , Lindach , Nordheim am Main , Obereisenheim with Schiffsmühle , Obervolkach with Stetten mill , Reupelsdorf with Fuchsmühle and knackery , Rimbach with Strehlhof , Sommerach , Stadel Schwarzach , Stammheim , Untereisenheim with Kaltenhausen , Volkach with Schaubmühle , Kirchberg and Herrnmühle , as well as Zeilitzheim with Herleshof and Lohmühle and had its seat in the former prince-bishop's office . The higher-level instances were the Schweinfurt Regional Court and the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

Even after 1918, the Volkach District Court held the right of first access in the case of offenses and crimes , as well as the criminal jurisdiction of the police. In the case of litigation involving small amounts in dispute, civil law negotiations were also held here. In 1921, in the course of the discharge law, the powers of the district judge were expanded, and in 1924 the district judges became single judges .

During the Nazi dictatorship, lawsuits relating to agricultural and forestry property went to the so-called Anerbegericht . With the ordinance of June 9, 1959, the Volkach District Court was converted into a branch of the Gerolzhofen District Court , then finally dissolved in 1966.
