The district court of Tecklenburg , based in the city of Tecklenburg in the Tecklenburger Land ( Steinfurt district ), is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 15 district courts (AG) in the district of the Münster district court . In addition to the local courts of Ibbenbüren , Rheine and Steinfurt , it is one of four local courts in the district.

Judicial district

The seat of the local court is 49545 Tecklenburg, court path 1. The judicial district of the local court covers the eastern Tecklenburger Land and is responsible for around 70,000 inhabitants. The district court is subordinate to the regional court of Münster . The Hamm Higher Regional Court is superordinate to the Münster Regional Court.

The Tecklenburg District Court is housed in a new building at Court Route 1. The district court was originally located at two locations on Brochterbecker Strasse and near Lengericher Strasse. On Brochterbecker Straße, the district court with the Tecklenburg district court, which no longer exists today, had its seat in a building that was built from the stones of Tecklenburg Castle . With the new building in 2000, both locations were merged into one building. The district court was founded in 1801.
