District court Ibbenbüren

The District Court of Ibbenbüren , based in the town of Ibbenbüren in the Tecklenburger Land ( Steinfurt district ), is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 15 district courts (AG) in the district of the Münster Regional Court . In addition to the district courts of Rheine , Steinfurt and Tecklenburg , it is one of four district courts in the district.

Jurisdiction and areas of responsibility

The seat of the district court is 49477 Ibbenbüren, Münsterstrasse 35. The judicial district of the district court covers the western Tecklenburger Land and is responsible for around 110,000 inhabitants.

The district includes the following cities and municipalities:

• City of Ibbenbüren ,
• City of Hörstel with the districts Bevergern , Dreierwalde and Riesenbeck ,
• Municipality of Hopsten with the districts of Halverde and Shell ,
• Mettingen municipality ,
• Recke municipality ,
• municipality Saerbeck

The tasks include that of ordinary jurisdiction, i.e. civil and criminal law , insofar as it is assigned to the local courts. The Ibbenbüren District Court is not responsible for dunning procedures . These are assigned to the District Court of Hagen , Central Dunning Court , for the OLG district of Hamm and the OLG district of Düsseldorf . The insolvency proceedings in the entire judicial district of the Münster District Court are assigned to the Münster District Court .

The District Court of Münster is directly superordinate to the District Court of Ibbenbüren, which in turn is superordinated to the Higher Regional Court of Hamm .

building

The main building at Münsterstrasse 35 dates back to 1881. It is built from Ibbenbürener sandstone and red brick. The style corresponds to that of the Wilhelmine era . It is a listed building . The land registry is housed separately in an outbuilding . Due to a lack of space, at the end of the 1990s some of the former rooms of the St. Ludwig Ibbenbüren Catholic kindergarten were also used. On August 19, 1998 , the North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of the Interior Fritz Behrens laid the foundation stone for the extension, which has existed since 1998 . A previous outbuilding on Ledder Strasse was given up.
