Anže Ropret (born November 23, 1989 in Ljubljana , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2008 .

Career

Anže Ropret began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , for whose professional team he was active in the Slovenian ice hockey league from 2005 to 2007 and with which he won the Slovenian championship title in the 2006/07 season . Then the winger moved for a year to the Foreurs de Val-d'Or from the Canadian junior league QMJHL , who had selected him in the CHL Import Draft of the year in 36th place. In this he scored four goals in 53 games and gave eight assists. He then returned to HDD Olimpija, for which he has since been on the ice in the Austrian ice hockey league and the Slovenian league. In 2013, 2014 and 2016 he was again the Slovenian national champion with his team.

International

For Slovenia, Ropret took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division I 2006 and 2007 and the U20 Junior World Championships in Division I in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 .

At the 2016 World Cup , he made his debut in the men's national team in Division I and was promoted to the top division with it.
