Anastasius Sedlag

Anastasius Sedlag (born April 13, 1786 in Dittmerau , Principality of Leobschütz , Silesia , † September 23, 1856 in Kulm ) was a German theologian, Bishop of Kulm and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Sedlag's father Ambrosius was a teacher, his mother Barbara was born Muschallek.

From 1807 to 1810 Sedlag studied theology at the University of Breslau . After being ordained a priest in 1810, he was initially vicar in Neisse and from 1815 pastor in Proskau and Opole . In 1831 he became an honorary canon at the Breslau Cathedral .

In 1833 Sedlag was appointed Bishop of Kulm and consecrated in 1834 by Martin Dunin , Archbishop of Gniezno and Posen . In 1848 Sedlag took part in the Synod of Bishops in Würzburg , accompanied by his advisor and Provost Eduard Herzog .

From May to July 19, 1848 he was a non-attached member of the Frankfurt Paulskirche parliament. His constituency was the province of Prussia (28th, Neustadt) , his successor from August 9th 1848 was Ludwig von Platen .

On February 26, 1855 he was accepted into the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Giuseppe Valerga , Patriarch of Jerusalem and Grand Master of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.
