Anastasija Tkachuk ( Ukrainian Анастасія Ткачук , English transcription Anastasiya Tkachuk ; born April 20, 1993 ) is a Ukrainian athlete who competes in the middle distance and has specialized in the 800 meters.

Career

In 2009 Anastassija Tkachuk took part in the World Youth Championships in Brixen and made it to the semi-finals there. In 2010 she took fourth place over 1000 meters at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore . In 2011 she won the 800 meters at the European Junior Championships in Tallinn . A year later, she finished seventh over 800 meters at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and with the Ukrainian relay she just missed a medal in fourth. In 2013, she finished sixth over 800 meters at the U23 European Championships in Tampere and just barely missed a medal in fourth in the Ukrainian long sprint relay. In 2014 she qualified for the European Championships in Zurich , but was eliminated in the preliminary round.

In 2015 she won the silver medal at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn and finished fifth in the relay. At the European team championships, she finished third for Ukraine and qualified for the world championships in Beijing . There she was eliminated over 800 meters in the first round , as well as at the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland . At the European Championships in Amsterdam she reached the semi-finals.

At the European Indoor Championships 2017 in Belgrade , Tkachuk made it to the semi-finals again.

So far she was once Ukrainian champion and two-time indoor champion over 800 meters.
