André Arcoverde de Albuquerque Cavalcanti (born December 15, 1878 in Pesqueira , Brazil , † June 20, 1955 in Taubaté ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Taubaté .

Life

André Arcoverde de Albuquerque Cavalcanti received on 28 October 1904, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 1, 1925, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the first bishop of Valença . The coadjutor archbishop of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro , Sebastião Leme da Silveira Cintra , donated him episcopal ordination on October 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Niterói , Agostinho Francisco Benassi , and the Bishop of Espírito Santo , Benedito Paulo Alves de Souza .

Pius XI. appointed him on August 8, 1936 Bishop of Taubaté. On November 8, 1941, Pope Pius XII took the resignation put forward by Arcoverde de Albuquerque Cavalcanti and thereupon appointed him titular bishop of Limnae .
