Andrea Casiraghi (born June 8, 1984 in Monaco ; full name Andrea Albert Pierre Casiraghi ) is the eldest child of Princess Caroline of Monaco , later also Princess of Hanover, and her second husband, the Italian entrepreneur Stefano Casiraghi . His siblings are Charlotte Casiraghi (born August 3, 1986) and Pierre Casiraghi (born September 5, 1987). Alexandra Princess of Hanover (born July 20, 1999) is his half-sister.

Casiraghi is the eldest grandson of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Princess Gracia Patricia . At the instigation of his mother, he - like his siblings Charlotte and Pierre - received no title of nobility. In 1990, when Andrea was six years old, his father died in a racing accident with an offshore powerboat off the coast of Monte Carlos. The family then moved to a small town near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in southern France. He later attended a renowned international school in Paris and in 1999 was voted one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" by People Magazine .

He has been married to the Colombian Tatiana Santo Domingo , the granddaughter of the former billionaire Julio Mario Santo Domingo , since August 31, 2013 . Julio Mario Santo Domingo built a six billion dollar empire and was, among other things, a major shareholder in the world's second largest brewery, SABMiller . The civil wedding took place in the princely palace in Monaco. The church wedding took place on February 1, 2014 in Rougemont . Rougemont is located near Gstaad , where Tatiana is said to have spent the first 15 years of her life.

Tatiana Santo Domingo gave birth to a son on March 21, 2013. According to media reports, the son's full name is Alexandre Andrea Stefano , which is usually shortened to Sasha or (depending on the source) Sacha . He is said to have been baptized on January 30, 2014 in St. Josef's Church in Gstaad . India, the daughter of Andrea Casiraghi and his wife, was born in London on April 12, 2015, and was followed by their son Maximilian Rainier on April 19, 2018.

Succession to the throne

Between 2005, the accession of his uncle Albert to the throne, and 2014, the birth of Albert's twin children, Andrea was in second place in the line of succession, behind his mother Caroline von Hannover . He would have been a candidate for heir to the throne had Albert not had legitimate descendants at the age of 56. Andrea is currently fourth in line to the throne.
