Charlotte Marie Pomeline Casiraghi (born August 3, 1986 in La Colle , Monaco ) is the second child of Caroline von Hannover and her second husband, the Italian entrepreneur Stefano Casiraghi . She has two brothers, Andrea Casiraghi and Pierre Casiraghi, and a half-sister, Princess Alexandra of Hanover.

Life

Charlotte Casiraghi is the granddaughter of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Princess Gracia Patricia . At the instigation of her mother, she - like her siblings Andrea and Pierre - did not receive a title of nobility.

In October 1990, when Charlotte was four years old, her father had a fatal accident in a racing accident with an offshore powerboat off the coast of Monte Carlos. After his death, her family moved to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in southern France.

Casiraghi studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, where he graduated in philosophy. In 2018 she published (with her philosophy teacher Robert Maggiori ) the book Archipel des Passions (German edition 2019: Archipel der Passenschaften , CH Beck).

Charlotte Casiraghi is a show jumper and has competed regularly in tournaments for many years. In 2010 she was made honorary president of the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo tournament , a title previously held by her mother Caroline.

She is co-founder of the magazine Ever Manifiesto , which reports on ecological aspects of the fashion industry. She is also committed to the Princess Grace Foundation and occasionally performs representative tasks.

In 2013 she advertised a fashion company. It was staged by photographer Peter Lindbergh for the motifs of the campaign .

In March 2013 it was officially announced that Casiraghi is in a relationship with Gad Elmaleh . On December 17, 2013, she gave birth to their son Raphaël in Monaco, whom they baptized in 2014 in the Monegasque palace chapel as part of a Catholic ceremony. She gave birth to her second son on October 23, 2018 in Monaco. The child's father is her partner Dimitri Rassam. On June 1, 2019, Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam were officially married in Monaco. The church wedding took place on June 29, 2019 in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
