Andrea True

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andrea True , actually Andrea Marie Truden , (born July 26, 1943 in Nashville , Tennessee , † November 7, 2011 in Kingston , New York ) was an American porn actress and singer. Under the name Andrea True Connection , she celebrated an international chart success in 1976 at the height of the disco era with the single More, More, More .

Career

True came to New York City in 1968 to pursue an acting career . However, she received only minor roles as a supporting actress and extra , including in the Streisand / Redford drama As We Were . When she then changed genre, she rose to become one of the most famous porn actresses of the 1970s. In total, True made more than 50 films in the course of her career.

During a trip to Jamaica in 1975, the single More, More, More was created together with producer Gregg Diamond and remixer Tom Moulton . Trues lascivious singing and clear textual references to her porn career helped the song to international popularity. In the USA, Great Britain and Germany he reached the top ten of the single charts. There was also a gold award in the USA. Andrea True was unable to build on this success with her follow-up singles, but Party Line (1976), New York, You Got Me Dancing (1977) and What's Your Name, What's Your Number (1978) made their way into the charts. Her second LP White Witch was created in 1978 in collaboration with producer Michael Zager ( Let's All Chant ). Her third and final LP War Machine was only released in Italy in 1980. With this release she tried to get a stronger emphasis on rock.

True retired into private life in the early 1980s. In 2003 she worked on a documentary for the US music channel VH1 about one-hit wonder . In 2005, a short interview followed in the documentary Inside Deep Throat .

True died of heart failure at the age of 68 on November 7, 2011 in a hospital in Kingston , New York , near her home in Woodstock . Her body was cremated and buried in Cleveland , Ohio .
