Andreas Sturm

Andreas T. Sturm (born September 18, 1986 in Speyer ) is a German local politician , non-fiction author and lecturer. He is a candidate for the state parliament of the CDU in the Schwetzingen / Hockenheim constituency for the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2021. He also publishes in national magazines and newspapers such as “ The European ” and “Der WirtschaftsKurier ”.

Career

Sturm studied English and Protestant religious studies at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. He completed the Honors Program in Shakespeare Studies at the Institute of Continuing Education at Cambridge University .

As an author, he publishes articles in the debate magazine “ The European ” and in the culture magazine “Tabula Rasa”, mainly on American politics, British politics, religion and culture. In October 2019 the non-fiction book “The Shakespeare Principle: 13 Ways to Success” was published by WOLL-Verlag . He also publishes in other specialist magazines such as Praxis Fremdspracheunterricht von Cornelsen .

Sturm lectures worldwide in the fields of literature ( William Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde ), theology, history and politics. He gave lectures as a visiting scholar in Florida (Marco Island, 2017), Braunau (opening lecture at the 28th  Braunauer Zeitgeschichte-Tage 2019), Arnsberg ( Christine Koch Society ) or in the Frankfurt press club (“What would Shakespeare do for Brexit say? ", 2019). He also appears regularly with his programs “Dinner with Shakespeare” and “Whiskey and Wilde”. Sturm is Chairman of the International Advisory Board and a member of the Board of Directors at the Marco Island & Naples Shakespeare Festival in Florida.

Andreas Sturm lives with his wife in the northern Baden community of Neulußheim , where he is a local councilor and second deputy mayor. He is a teacher at the Albertus Magnus School in Viernheim and at the Hessian Teaching Academy. Before that, he worked at the Hessian Ministry of Culture . For the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2021, Andreas Sturm is a candidate for the CDU in the Schwetzingen / Hockenheim constituency. In the nomination, he prevailed against the federal chairman of the Values ​​Union , Alexander Mitsch .
