Andrej Anatolyevich Rybakou ( Belarusian Андрей Анатольевич Рыбаков ; born March 4, 1982 in Mahiljou , Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian weightlifter and world record holder in snatch and duel in the class up to 85 kg.
Athletic career
At the 2004 European Championships, his duel result of 365 kg was not enough to place himself on the podium. At the Olympic Games in the same year, however, Rybakou lifted 15 kg more and won the silver medal with 380 kg in a duel.
At the 2005 World Championships, he could not win a medal with the same duel result due to the strong field of participants. In 2006 and 2007 he became world champion, leaving the runner-up 10 and 21 kg behind. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , the doped Rybakou was beaten by Lu Yong from the People's Republic of China , who only set the duel record of 394 kg set by Rybakou, but brought the lower body weight on the scales.
doping
In early April 2016, Rybakou was suspended after a drug test positive for meldonium . With a controversial partial amnesty, WADA lifted the suspension at the end of April.
In August 2016, another test showed that Rybakou had also been doped at the 2008 Olympic Games. He had taken dehydrochloromethyl testosterone and stanozolol . The IOC therefore dismissed him from the silver medal .
