Andrew Schacht (born May 22, 1973 in Adelaide ) is a former Australian beach volleyball player .
Career
Schacht played his first international tournaments in 1996 with Andrew Burdin . In 1997 he formed a new duo with Victor Anfilloff , who finished 41st at the 1999 World Cup in Marseille . At the Berlin Open 2002 Schacht competed with Joshua Slack for the first time . The two Australians achieved various top ten placements in their first years together, including a third place in 2003 in Espinho . In 2004 they reached the last sixteen at the Olympic tournament in Athens , where they were defeated by the Germans Christoph Dieckmann and Andreas Scheuerpflug . At the 2005 World Cup in Berlin there was also a defeat against a German duo ( Polte / Schoen ) and the end in the continental duel against Pitman / Lochhead . Two years later Schacht / Slack celebrated their greatest success when they finished third at the World Cup in Gstaad with a win against the Brazilians Emanuel / Ricardo . Her second Olympic participation ended in Beijing in 2008 in the round of 16 against the Dutch duo Nummerdor / Schuil .
