Joshua Slack (born December 16, 1976 in Brisbane ) is an Australian beach volleyball player .

Career

Slack completed his first international tournaments with Matthew Grinlaubs in 1999 . In 2000, Slack / Grinlaubs played after some top placements at the Olympic tournament in Sydney , but where they missed the second round. In 2001 Slack reached three ninth places with Jarrod Novosel and was eliminated in the first main round at the World Cup in Klagenfurt against the US duo McCaw / Heidger .

At the Berlin Open 2002 Slack competed with Andrew Schacht for the first time . The two Australians achieved various top ten placements in their first years together, including a third place in 2003 in Espinho . In 2004 they reached the last sixteen at the Olympic tournament in Athens , where they were defeated by the Germans Christoph Dieckmann and Andreas Scheuerpflug . At the 2005 World Cup in Berlin there was also a defeat against a German duo ( Polte / Schoen ) and the end in the continental duel against Pitman / Lochhead . Two years later Schacht / Slack celebrated their greatest success when they finished third at the World Cup in Gstaad with a win against the Brazilians Emanuel / Ricardo . Her second Olympic participation ended in Beijing in 2008 in the round of 16 against the Dutch duo Nummerdor / Schuil .

From 2010 to 2012, Slack played with Christopher McHugh . The best result of the new duo was fifth at the 2011 Grand Slam in Moscow .

Since 2013, Slack has only played sporadically with various partners at national tournaments.
