Anisodus tanguticus is a plant type from the genus Anisodus within the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The species is common in the People's Republic of China .

description

Anisodus tanguticus is a perennial , herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 40 to 80 (rarely up to 100) cm. The roots are strong, the stems glabrous or hairy. The leaves have petioles 1 to 3.5 cm long , the leaf blades are lanceolate, elongated or ovate, they are 8 to 20 cm long and 2.5 to 9 cm wide, are thickly paper-like and hairless or rarely hairy. The leaf margin is whole or roughly one or two teeth.

The flowers are erect or nodding on 1.5 to 8 (rarely up to 11) cm long, hairless or hairy pedicels . The calyx is bell-shaped or almost funnel-shaped, 2.5 to 4 cm long and covered with broad triangular, slightly uneven and hairless tips that can be pointed or blunt towards the front. The crown is purple or dark purple, sometimes pale yellow green. It is similar in shape to the chalice, becomes 2.5 to 3.8 cm long, so that only the coronet protrudes beyond the chalice. The corolla tube is hairy on the outside, the hairiness increases towards the base. The corolla lobes are rounded. The stamens are only half as long as the crown, the stamens are about 0.8 mm long, the elongated anthers 5 to 8 mm. The stylus is 1.2 cm long.

When the fruit ripens, the flower stalk extends to a length of 6 to 8 cm and stands upright, the calyx is about 6 to 7.5 cm and has protruding ribs and veins. Inside is a capsule about 2 cm in diameter.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.

The species is widespread in the People's Republic of China and occurs there on sunny, grassy slopes. The locations are in the provinces of Gansu , Qinghai , in the northwest and southwest of Sichuan , in the east of Xizang and in the northwest of Yunnan .
