Anita Birgitta Hakala (* as Anita Nyman on September 15, 1971 in Forssa , Finland ) is a Finnish cross-country skier and biathlete .

Anita Hakala-Nyman started her career as a cross-country skier at the Forssan Salama club in her hometown and then started for Hollolan Urheilijat -46 , she was also active for Ahveniston Ampumahiihtäjät . She contested her first race in the cross-country skiing world cup in Lahti in 1993 , where she was 60th in the 5-kilometer freestyle. This was followed by alternate appearances in the World Cup and Continental Cup. In Hakuba she won the first World Cup points as 21st in a classic race over 5 kilometers, the day after she was 17th over 10 km. This also remained her best World Cup result. In Nagano it was used at the 1998 Winter Olympics . Hakala was 56th over the 5-kilometer classic and 44th in the pursuit race. She achieved her best result in the 4 × 5-km relay, in which she was the final runner. Together with Tuulikki Pyykkönen , Milla Jauho and Satu Salonen , she came in seventh. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein , it was a use over 15-kilometer freestyle, which she finished 26th. After the 1999/2000 season she switched to biathlon.

Hakala contested her first international race at the start of the 2001/02 season in Windischgarsten in the Biathlon European Cup and was third in a sprint behind Katja Beer and Sabrina Buchholz . Shortly afterwards she made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen . In the sprint she was 60th, lapped in the pursuit and with the Finnish relay with Sanna-Leena Perunka , Outi Kettunen and Katja Holanti she came in ninth place. The highlight of her first season was her participation in the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . Hakala was 54th in the sprint, lapped in the pursuit and twelfth in the relay. In 2004 Hakala won the first World Cup points in a sprint in Ruhpolding as the 26th. It was also her best World Cup result so far. In 2004 she also took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time . The best result here was a 27th place in the pursuit.
