Anja Gockel
Anja Gockel (born May 16, 1968 in Mainz ) is a German fashion designer .
Career
Anja Gockel studied fashion design at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London from 1987 to 1995 . From 1995 to 1996 she worked for Vivienne Westwood and created the line h 'by Carlotta h'Glesse. Since 1996 she has her own fashion label Anja Gockel London for women's fashion with a red cockscomb as the company logo .
Her poetically dreamy, mostly happy and colorful fashion is internationally recognized and has been shown at many fashion fairs and is sold in boutiques worldwide. Her customers include celebrities like Queen Silvia of Sweden . Anja Gockel dresses presenters and artists such as Ann-Kathrin Kramer , Barbara Schöneberger , Mina Tander and Marietta Slomka . She provided the final show for Germany's Next Top Model by Heidi Klum three times and she was there live twice. First, the designer flew to Los Angeles for a fourth season shoot; In 2010 Klum and her young models came to Berlin for Gockel's fashion show. Internationally successful supermodels like Alek Wek also work for the German label, which was able to grow even in the crisis year 2010. In 2014 she took part in the Beijing Chic Beijing trade fair for the first time . In 2016 she celebrated the 20th birthday of her fashion label at Berlin Fashion Week . In January 2017, Anja Gockel was named Designer of the Year 2017 by the Network of German Fashion & Textile Designers. At the same time, her fashion show took place for the first time during the Berlin fashion week in the lobby of the Hotel Adlon Kempinski at the Brandenburg Gate.
Anja Gockel works in Mainz. She is married and has four children.
