Anna Paulson (born February 29, 1984 ) is a former Swedish soccer player . The defender , who won six league titles and twice the UEFA Women's Cup with Umeå IK , made her debut for the Swedish national team in 2004 .

Career

Paulson started playing soccer at Gimonäs CK . In 2001 she moved to Umeå IK in Damallsvenskan . In her debut season, she won the double of the championship and national cup with the team , which was defended the following year. After she and her team around players like Malin Moström , Anna Sjöström and Hanna Marklund had missed the title in the first edition of the UEFA Women's Cup against the German representative 1. FFC Frankfurt with a 2-0 final defeat, they succeeded in the following year against Danish club Fortuna Hjørring won the 2002/03 UEFA Women's Cup . As the defending champion, the team of coach Andrée Jeglertz was eligible to start the following year, although they missed winning the championship again behind Djurgården / Älvsjö . Again she reached the final of the European Cup, in which she outclassed 1. FFC Frankfurt after a 3-0 home win with a 5-0 away win in the Frankfurt stadium on Bornheimer Hang .

Not least thanks to the success in the club, Paulson recommended himself for the national team. Under national coach Marika Domanski Lyfors she made her debut in October 2004 in a 1-1 draw against Finland in the national team. At first, however, she was still mainly part of the squad of the Swedish U-21 team and was only used sporadically in the senior national team. In 2005 she was part of the squad at the European Championships in England , but was not used. In the club, however, she had finally established herself as a regular and dominated the Swedish championship with the team in the following period. In 2007 she made the leap into the regular formation of the senior national team under Thomas Dennerby , who has meanwhile been appointed national coach, and was part of the squad for the 2007 World Cup finals , where she played in all three group matches. At the Olympic Games in 2008 she was taken into account again and came back to three games, including the quarter-final game, which was lost to Germany .

In the summer of 2009 Dennerby called her alongside her club mates Ulla-Karin Rönnlund and Lisa Dahlkvist to the squad for the 2009 European Championship finals .
