Annegret Cratz (born September 28, 1957 in Wiesbaden ) is a German accordionist .

Professional

Annegret Cratz received her first accordion lessons at the age of eight with Regina Walther, wife of the Wiesbaden accordion teacher Dietmar Walther .

After a short time she switched to Dietmar Walther herself at the Wiesbaden Conservatory. At the age of nine and eleven, she won the Hessen championship. This was followed by participation in the Jugend musiziert competition with a prize at federal level, in 1971 in age group II, 1973 in age group III.

In the same year Annegret Cratz took part in the international tape competition of the CIA (Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes). The tape she submitted was initially nominated in Germany to then take part in the final round in New Zealand. Against the competition of the tapes sent in from 13 nations, she was able to win this global competition. This was followed by an invitation to the Coupe Mondiale , which took place in Vichy / France that same year (1973) . There she was allowed to present herself as a youth award winner in the festive and final concert.

After graduating from high school in 1976, Cratz studied pedagogy (major), psychology and philosophy (minor) up to the intermediate diploma at the universities of Frankfurt and Mainz .

In June 1979 she passed the entrance examination for the accordion (major with Dietmar Walther) and harpsichord (minor with Hans Kunz, cantor of the Bergkirche Wiesbaden) at the Wiesbaden Conservatory and graduated in 1983 with the top grade.

In the same year she started teaching accordion at the Wiesbaden Conservatory, later Wiesbaden Music & Art School . She finished teaching in July 2015 and now lives in Heppenheim

In 1985 she founded the “Duo Concertante” with the accordionist Jörg Mehren (* 1964). Concerts at home and abroad followed, as well as invitations to be the first accordionists to take part in the Rheingau Music Festival . The first CD was released in 1989, Duo Concertante , and in 1995 the CD Tango Nuevo was released .

The television broadcasters Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and Südwestrundfunk (SWR) invited the Duo Concertante to various television programs and recordings. B. Happy Vineyard . The entertainer Vico Torriani engaged the duo in 1989 for their 3-week Christmas tour with a total of 22 concerts.

From 2002 Cratz began to work in various chamber music ensembles.

In many concerts she worked with the entertainer, actor, SWR4 presenter and spokesman for ZDF, Nick Benjamin († 2018).

In the church concert sector, she has also been accompanying the recorder player Hans-Jürgen Hufeisen since 2002 , with whom she performs together at home and abroad, most recently with an oratorio composed for the Luther year, the Zwingli Act . A large number of CDs resulted from this collaboration with Horseshoes.

Annegret Cratz has been leading an accordion ensemble since the mid-1990s, the members of which consist of players from the Wiesbaden Dietmar Walther (AOWDW) accordion orchestra. The existing Accento ensemble makes concert tours abroad and performs regularly in Germany.

Since April 1975 she has been concertmaster of the Wiesbaden Dietmar Walther accordion orchestra .

Annegret Cratz has been a member of the theater ensemble at the Kuenstlerhaus43 in Wiesbaden since 2009 . In this role she is responsible for the musical design of several theater productions, as well as being experienced in smaller speaking roles.

Her permanent repertoire includes works, such as: B. with Johann Sebastian Bach over Astor Piazzolla up to world music (focus on musettes ).

Private

Cratz is married and has a daughter and a son.
