Annelies Burmeister
Annelies Burmeister (born November 25, 1928 in Ludwigslust ; † June 16, 1988 in Berlin ; actually: Anneliese Burmeister ) was a German opera , oratorio and cantata singer ( alto voice ).
Life
Annelies Burmeister began her stage career as an actress at the Niederdeutsche Bühne in Schwerin . From 1951 to 1956 she studied singing with Helene Jung at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . In 1956 she made her stage debut in Hoffmanns Erzählungen at the Stadttheater in Erfurt, after which she was engaged at the National Theater Weimar , before moving to the Dresden State Opera in 1959 . From 1962 she sang at the Berlin State Opera and gave guest performances at major European opera theaters. At the same time she worked as a soloist in concerts and oratorios. Her appearances at the Bayreuth Festival in 1966 and 1967 had great success . Guest engagements took her to the Vienna State Opera , the Hamburg State Opera , the Grand Opéra Paris , but she was also successful in Amsterdam, Prague, Stockholm and London.
