Annette Potempa

Annette Potempa (born September 18, 1976 in Chorzow , Poland ) is a German actress , voice actress and former gymnast for the German national team.

Life

Athletic career

Annette Potempa, who was born in Poland and grew up in Germany since she was eight, began her gymnastics career at the age of seven. At the age of 10 she already set a world record of 32 flickflacks at an event in the Grugahalle in Essen . In her club TVG Steele in Essen, she achieved her first national title, but left the club in 1989. (German student champion in eight combat and on the balance beam, German youth champion in eight combat and on the balance beam and admission to the national team). She did gymnastics at the 1991 World Championships in Indianapolis , and in 1992 at the European Championships in Nantes . In 1992 she was part of the German national team at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and took 9th place with the team. She ended her international career with a silver medal on the uneven bars at the German Gymnastics Festival in Hamburg in 1994.

Later career

After her sporting career, she came to the theater stage via detours. First of all, she was interested in medicine. Training as a physiotherapist at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz was her stopover. She then studied acting and singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts and Stage & Musical School, both in Frankfurt am Main .

Annette Potempa has appeared on the German stages since 2006. In addition to her work on stage, she also works as a speaker. Among other things, she lent her voice to the character Ellie in the Playstation game The Last of Us . Annette Potempa lives with her husband in the Rhine-Main area.
