Anselmo Tadeu Silva do Nascimento , better known by the stage name Anselmo , (born October 24, 1980 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player .
Career
Anselmo started his professional career in 1998 at SE Palmeiras . He played for the club for almost five years before making a name for himself as a Wandervogel in the years that followed. He came to Al-Sailiya in Qatar through SE Gama in 2003 , his first post abroad. In 2004 he returned to Brazil and from then on played for AA Ponte Preta . After a year he moved to Náutico Capibaribe and played for Paysandu SC that same year . Atlético Mineiro and Criciúma EC followed in 2006 and Boavista SC , CR Vasco da Gama and Avaí FC in 2007 .
In the spring of 2008 Anselmo left Brazil again and moved to the Allsvenskan in Sweden to Halmstads BK . There he was supposed to replace Dušan Đurić, who had migrated to FC Zurich . The offensive player succeeded in doing this by shining as a regular goalscorer and thus occupying one of the top places in the list of goalscorers for the 2008 season. In his second year in Sweden he missed his scoring threat, so that he had to take a seat on the bench from time to time. Nevertheless, he managed to stay with the team alongside Michael Görlitz , Tim Sparv , Mikael Rosén and Magnus Bahne . In the 2010 season he was again more successful with seven goals this season and led the team to twelfth place in the table as the club's best internal goalscorer.
In early 2011 Anselmo returned to Brazil and signed a contract with his former youth club Botafogo FC from São Paulo.
