Antholz Mittertal ( Italian Anterselva di Mezzo ) is a fraction of the municipality of Rasen-Antholz in the Antholz Valley in South Tyrol ( Italy ) with 726 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

location

Antholz Mittertal is located at an altitude of about 1250  m and lies in the valley between Antholz Niedertal and Antholz Obertal .

history

Until 1919 Antholz Mittertal belonged as part of the cadastral municipality of Antholz in the municipality of Rasen to the judicial district of Bruneck , which came to Italy as a result of the First World War . 1928 Cadastral Antholz together with Niederrasen, Oberrasen and Olang was under fascism the greater community Lawn Olang ( Italian Rasun Valdaora ) based in Niederrasen together. The German-speaking mayors were deposed and a Podestà from the old Italian provinces was appointed community leader. In 1955 the community was divided into the present-day communities Olang and Rasen-Antholz.

church

St. George

The church in Antholz Mittertal is dedicated to St. George and was first mentioned in 1220. The present church was built by Jakob Santer in 1794 in the late Baroque style, the church tower was built in the late Gothic style.

Infrastructure

In the eastern part of the village runs the state road 44, which connects the Pustertal state road with the Staller Sattel , which leads to Austria . The Riepenlift, a small drag lift for skiers, is located in Antholz Mittertal .
