Anthony Forrest (* 25. July 1951 in Birmingham , England as Anthony William Forrest ) is a British actor , musician , composer and music producer.

life and career

Forrest grew up on West Island , west of Montreal , Canada . He comes from a musical family. His father made music, his older sister played in various clubs. He attended John Fisher School in Valois , St. Thomas High School in Pointe Claire and Dawson College in Montreal. He studied music and classical composition at Vanier College in St. Laurent , Pointe-Claire .

Forrest has already worked in children's theater. At the age of 15 he was seen in a theater production by Bill Millerd at the Israeli Pavilion in Montreal ; he played the role of the boy Mark in The Soldier . During his high school years he was a member of his high school drama club, where he appeared in several plays, shows and vaudevilles . There he played the role of Jerry in a production of the two-person play The Zoo Story by Edward Albee . He later joined Maxim Mazumdar's Phoenix Theater Company in Montreal . His stage roles there included Lucius in Titus Andronicus and Banquo in Macbeth .

From the mid-1970s, he had supporting roles in American films and television series, including 1976 in Lunar Base Alpha 1 . He was occupied here several times as an officer or crew member. After appearing on a BBC television series, casting agent Irene Lamb got him to meet director George Lucas in London . In 1977 he then played in Star Wars the role of Laze Loneozner, a friend of Luke Skywalker , whose scenes were filmed alongside Mark Hamill and Sir Alec Guinness in Tunisia , but were cut out of the theatrical version. He made small appearances in several blockbusters , such as The Eagle Has Landed (1976), James Bond 007 - The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Reds - A Man Fights for Justice . In the British artist film Valentino (1977) by Ken Russell , he also played a supporting role as Mr. Fatty's manager. He played a leading role as Pete in the British horror film Killer's Moon (1978). Roles in American and British television series followed. In the British BBC series Oppenheimer (1980) he played the physicist Ross Lomanitz . He had identified episode roles in the series Jim Bergerac (1981) and Nikita (1997).

As a teenager Forrest played at church music events in Valois, later in various folk clubs and in some music bands in Montreal; he hitchhiked to New York City to play in clubs. He plays several instruments. In the early 1980s he was a musician and record producer under contract with RCA Records . As a music producer, he produced the music trio The Mood and the AK Band for RCA Records. The Mood's song Don't Stop hit the US Top Ten and was number 1 on the UK Dance Charts.

Forrest also came out with his own compositions. His musical role models include Frank Zappa , The Doors , Igor Stravinsky , John Adams , Edward Elgar , Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan . He published u. a. the album Pantheons of the Tribe (2008). Forrest presented the album, which combines stylistic elements of rock music and classical music , as a soloist on the electric guitar in classical arrangements. In 2014 his album They Ate the Rich was released . Forrest is the founder and owner of his own music label, Fixer Records .

In 2005 Forrest became a member of the Shakespeare Society of America.
