Anton Eric Scotoni

Anton Eric Scotoni (born August 7, 1916 in Zurich ; † December 8, 2011 there ; entitled to live in Zurich) was a Swiss entrepreneur in the construction, film and aircraft industries.

Life

Anton Eric Scotoni was one of the sons of Eugen Scotoni and Angela Gassmann-Grieder (1877-1953). He graduated from the schools of the then Zurich suburb of Oerlikon , passed the Matura of the Cantonal School Zurich. He studied in Zurich, Leuven and Brussels . In 1944 he received his doctorate in economics with a dissertation on the renovation of Zurich's old town . In 1946 he acquired his pilot and aerobatic certification ( United States , Switzerland).

After the death of his older brother Ralph Scotoni , he joined the family business, a company in the construction and film industry (including Eugen Scotoni AG , Apollo Cinerama cinema (Zurich), Metropole cinemas (Zurich and Lausanne ), Ascot Elite film distribution ). He later took over the general agency (1947–1968) of Cessna Flugzeugwerke for Europe and founded Flugzeughandels AG and Alpine Luft-Transport AG ALAG (a taxi airline) together with Dieter Bührle , H. Katz and M. Dübendorfer. In the mid-1950s he opened the Hotel Ascot in Zurich, in 1990 the Hotel Wellenberg in Zurich, and participated in numerous catering companies (including Commercio Cantina AG ).

From 1958 to 1986 he was a. a. Member of the Swiss delegation of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale , president of the powered flight commission of the Aero Club of Switzerland , board member / vice-president / president of the Zürcher Lichtspieltheater-Verband, board member and from 1986 honorary member of the Swiss Lichtspieltheater-Verband. From 1967 to 1975 Scotoni was a member of the municipal council of the city of Zurich for the FDP and from 1974 to 1978 a member of the cantonal council of the canton of Zurich .

Scotoni was married three times and divorced three times. He left two daughters from his first marriage, grandson and granddaughter. His sons Christian geb. 1980 and Antonio-Eric born 1985. His third wife Renate keeps the company going. From 2006 to 2011 he lived separated from his core family in the Hotel Dolder Waldhaus in Zurich and died there; he was 95 years old.
