Anton Friedrich Ludwig Pelt

Anton Friedrich Ludwig Pelt (born June 28, 1799 in Regensburg , † January 22, 1861 in Kemnitz ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Anton Friedrich Ludwig Pelt was born on June 28, 1799 in Regensburg as the son of a royal Danish legation secretary . He received preliminary training in schools in his hometown as well as in Bückeburg and Altona and finally moved to the University of Jena to study theology and philosophy , then he switched to the University of Kiel . During his studies he became a member of the original fraternity in Jena and the Kiel fraternity . He passed the official theological examination in 1822 in Glückstadt . He then opened his first as a candidate in Altona down, moved in 1826 to Berlin and was there at the University of the examination to the licentiate . He then worked there as a private lecturer in theology . In 1828 he moved to the University of Greifswald on instructions from the government and became an associate professor there . For doctor of theology doctorate he in 1830 and took five years later a professor at the University of Kiel. In 1838, Pelt founded the magazine Theologische Zusammenarbeiten with professor colleagues , which was published for three years. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Dannebrog Order in early 1848. However, when the Danish regiment was restored on June 4, 1852, ten professors from Kiel, including Pelt, were suspended for their political behavior because of their service. On August 3rd of the same year, however, Pelt took over a pastor's position in Kemnitz and in 1857 he was promoted to superintendent there . He died there on January 22, 1861 at the age of 61.
