Anton Frisch (politician, 1889)
Anton Frisch (born June 22, 1889 in Vienna ; † March 23, 1963 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), teacher, professor at a teacher training institute and district and state school inspector for Burgenland . From 1945 to 1946 he was regional councilor in Burgenland, from 1945 to 1953 a member of the national council and from 1953 to 1956 a member of the federal council and its chairman in the second half of 1955.
education and profession
Frisch attended elementary school and then continued his education at the community school . He then graduated from a teacher training college, where he trained as a primary school teacher. He also studied political science for six semesters at the University of Vienna . Frisch worked as a primary and community school teacher and subsequently also taught as a professor at a teacher training institute. He later became district school inspector and state school inspector for Burgenland. He was given the professional title of Hofrat .
After his death, Frisch was buried on March 29, 1963 in the Baumgartner Friedhof (group C, number 258).
Politics and functions
Due to his political commitment, Frisch was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp after the Nazis came to power . He was a councilor in the Burgenland municipality of Neusiedl am See and from October 1, 1945 to January 4, 1946, regional councilor in the provisional state committee of Burgenland (Burgenland state government), where he was in charge of the school department. He also represented the Austrian People's Party between December 19, 1945 and March 18, 1953, and was a member of the Federal Council from March 19, 1953 to June 22, 1956, where he was there from July 1, 1955 to March 31, 1953 December 1955 chaired. Within the party, he was also active as a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Burgenland .
