Anton Geppert

Anton Geppert (born July 1, 1829 in Brixlegg ; † September 15, 1890 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian architect and engineer .

Life

Anton Geppert studied at the Technical University of Vienna and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . In 1848 he fought with a volunteer corps made up of Tyrolean academics under Adolf Pichler on the Italian border. After completing his studies, he entered the service of the state of Tyrol, where he was promoted to state chief engineer. Geppert planned river regulations, torrent barriers, roads and bridges, but also numerous church buildings in historicist styles.
