Anton Lauber

Anton Lauber (born April 17, 1961 in Basel ; legal resident in Horw and Marbach LU ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) and lawyer. He has been a member of the Basel-Landschaft government council since 2013 and heads the finance and church administration.

Life

Professional training and activities

After three internships from 1988 to 1990, Lauber was admitted to the bar in the canton of Basel-Landschaft in 1991 and initially worked in a Liestal law firm. In 1995 he received his doctorate. iur. Since 1996 he has been an independent lawyer in the law firm and notary's office Lauber Reich & Wolf in Arlesheim .

Political career

Anton Lauber is one of the two vice-presidents of the CVP Kanton Baselland .

From 1996 to June 30, 2013 Lauber was a member of the Allschwil municipal council , first as head of the Department of Social Services - Health , and since 2004 he has been President of this executive body and thus head of the Department of Central Services - Presidiales .

For the first time, Lauber applied internally in 2006 as a candidate for a seat on the government council; however, Peter Zwick was nominated and later elected by the people . In the replacement elections on June 9, 2013 for the successor to the late Zwick, Lauber was ultimately chosen by the CVP as its candidate and he succeeded in gaining a seat on the government council. With 30,867 votes, he had a lead of 4,586 votes over his opponent.

Lauber is active in numerous regional associations and bodies, including President of the Basel-Landschaft Police Personnel Association and a member of the board of the trinational Eurodistrict Basel .

Private

Anton Lauber is the son of the former CVP district administrator of the same name . He has lived in Allschwil since childhood. His life partner brought two now grown sons into the relationship.
