Anton Ortallo

Anton Ortallo (* 1777 ; † July 8, 1844 in Eppingen ) was a state official in the Electoral Palatinate - Baden . He served as magistrate for nearly 50 years in the Kraichgau and in the northern part of Baden operate under various former German states in the civil service.

Life

He came from a merchant family in Mannheim , who probably moved here from Italy . Anton Ortallo married Babette nee Seelheim († June 10, 1849), daughter of Jacob Seelheim von Heidelberg and Maria Elisabeth nee Weerle. Ortallo's marriage resulted in four children: Gustav Adolf Heinrich († November 24, 1836, 20 years old); Albine (* around 1817); Elise († September 27, 1842, 24 years old) and Alexander (* around 1823).

During his long career from 1795 to 1844, he experienced all state changes that took place in Germany from the end of the 18th century to the middle of the 19th century, from the end of the Electoral Palatinate (1803) and the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in 1806 to Development of the Grand Duchy of Baden into a constitutional monarchy with an orderly administration.

From 1795 to 1805 he worked as mayor in Hilsbach in the Electoral Palatinate , and from 1806 to 1808 in the service of the short-lived Principality of Leiningen he was judicial officer at the Princely Leining Justice Office in Hilsbach in Sinsheim .

From 1808 he was in Baden service: 1808 to 1813 bailiff of the Princely Leining Justice Office Hilsbach , 1814 to 1827 bailiff of the district office Boxberg , 1827 bailiff in Ettlingen , 1827 to 1844 senior bailiff of the Eppingen district office .

As a bailiff , he was the highest administrative officer and representative of the respective sovereign , and within the framework of the jurisdiction he took on tasks as a judge and notary .

In 1834 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Zähringer Lion Order .
