Anton Wilhelm Karl von L'Estocq (born November 2, 1823 in Neustrelitz ; † August 18, 1913 , Gut Matzdorf ) was a Prussian officer , most recently lieutenant general and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Life

Anton Wilhelm Karl von L'Estocq came from a Huguenot family L'Estocq , who had fled France and achieved a high reputation, especially in the Prussian military service. He was the son of the Prussian Colonel a. D. and Mecklenburg-Strel. Court Marshal Karl von L'Estocq (1788–1864) and his wife Charlotte von Wülcknitz (1796–1834).

Military career

L'Estocq attended the military academy in Berlin and was then on 12 August 1841, the second lieutenant in the 1st Guards Regiment walk the Prussian Army transferred. In mid-March 1871, L'Estocq was confirmed as the commander of his regiment.

After the war, L'Estocq was from December 12, 1874 to October 28, 1875 commander of the 1st Guards Regiment on foot, in which he had started his military career at the time.
