Antonia Gerke

Antonia Gerke (born December 29, 1974 ) is a German actress and painter .

Life

Antonia Gerke grew up in a family of art teachers in Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein).

In 1997 she received a scholarship from the European Film College Denmark and studied acting and screenwriting with international teachers, including Fiona Cumming. She then completed an acting training in 1999 at the Los Felix Playhouse with Ron Burrus in Los Angeles.

Gerke plays theater roles and appears in television and cinema films. At the same time she works as a visual artist. In addition to her artistic work, she publicly deals with the role of women in the artistic production process.

Antonia Gerke lives with her two children in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg and is in a relationship with the actor and screenwriter Neithardt Riedel .

"Antonia Gerke moves and inspires both through her art and her personality and thus contributes to change in society." With this reason she was awarded the Victress Art Award in 2009.

Her artistic work for the 2012 Olympics was highlighted in a documentary by Alexa Oona Schulz. In the video Tracks of Trust by Patricia Bateira, the artistic design process of Gerkes is the focus.

The TV presenter Jörg Thadeusz nominated their works in 2013 for the RBB telecast I like that! Celebrities recommend 50x art in Berlin and Brandenburg .
