Antonio Ceballos Atienza (born July 31, 1935 in Alcalá la Real , Jaén Province , Spain ) is Bishop Emeritus of Cádiz y Ceuta .

Life

Antonio Ceballos Atienza was ordained a priest on June 29, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo on January 7, 1988 . The apostolic nuncio in Spain , Mario Tagliaferri , donated his episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Marcelo González Martín , Archbishop of Toledo , and Cardinal Angel Suquía Goicoechea , Archbishop of Madrid .

On December 10, 1993, John Paul II called him Bishop of Cádiz y Ceuta. On August 30, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
