Antonio Ligi Bussi

Antonio Ligi Bussi OFMConv (born December 6, 1799 in Urbino , † September 9, 1862 in Rome ) was an Italian Curia Archbishop .

Life

He entered the Order of Friars Minor Conventual and received on December 26, 1825 Iesi the priesthood . In 1831 he became curate of the Roman church of Santi XII Apostoli . After he had obtained the degree of Master of Theology at the Roman College of San Bonaventura and had taught canon law there from June 5, 1837 , he entered the service of the Curia on April 12, 1842 as consultor of the Congregation for Regulars .

Pope Pius IX appointed Antonio Ligi Bussi on January 7, 1851 Vice-tenant of Rome and on February 17 of the same year titular Archbishop of Iconium . He received his episcopal ordination on February 23, 1851, the Cardinal Bishop of Albano and Cardinal Vicar Costantino Patrizi Naro ; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Carlo Luigi Morichini and Domenico Lucciardi . From February 20, 1852, he was consultor of the Holy Office and of the Congregation for Indulgences and Holy Relics .

Antonio Ligi Bussi died in office and was buried in the church of Santi XII Apostoli .
