Arbis is a village and a former French commune with the last 276 inhabitants (at January 1, 2016) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belonged to the arrondissement of Langon and the canton of L'Entre-deux-Mers .

On January 1, 2019, Arbis merged with Cantois to form the Commune nouvelle Porte-de-Benauge . Arbis does not have the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are in Arbis.

history

Arbis belonged to the vice-county of Bénauges , the center of which, the castle Benauge , southwest of the place, belonged to the former municipality.
