Arcangelo Salimbeni

Arcangelo Salimbeni (* around 1536 in Siena ; † 1579 there ) was an Italian painter .

Life

Was born as Arcangelo Salimbeni di Leonardo in Siena. He was the father of Ventura Salimbeni and the stepfather of Francesco Vanni . He learned painting from Bartolomeo Neroni , called Riccio . He himself taught Pietro Sorri . Initially followed the style of Domenico Beccafumi and Sodoma , later influences of Federico Zuccaro and Marco Pino show up .
