Hydrology

At the confluence of the Arentèle in the Mortagne the mean flow rate (MQ) is 0.77 m³ / s; the catchment area here covers 65.2 km².

At the L'Arentèle à Saint-Gorgon gauge, the average annual runoff rate of 0.72 m³ / s was calculated over a period of 20 years (1991-2010). The catchment area at this point corresponds to about 63.2 km², thus about 97% of the complete catchment area of the river.

The highest water levels are measured in the winter months from December to March. The flow rate reached its peak at 1.21 m³ / s in March. From April onwards, the discharge drops noticeably month after month and reaches its lowest level in August at 0.28 m³ / s, only to then increase again from month to month.

The monthly mean discharge (MQ) of the Arentèle in m³ / s,
measured at the hydrological station L'Arentèle à Saint-Gorgon.
