Arkia Israeli Airlines ( Hebrew ארקיע I'm going to fly high ) is the second largest Israeli airline with headquarters in Tel Aviv and bases at Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion and Tel Aviv-Sde-Dov airports .
history
Arkia Israeli Airlines was founded in 1949 by El Al as Arkia Inland Airlines and began operating in 1950. In 1972 Kanaf Airlines and Aviation Services took over 50 percent of the airline's shares and renamed it Kanaf Arkia Airline and Aviation Services .
After the insolvency of Primera Air Scandinavia , Arkia Israeli Airlines became the first customer of the Airbus A321LR . However, by installing 220 seats, the company cannot use the increased range of 4000 nautical miles, which would only be possible with up to 206 seats.
Destinations
Arkia Israeli Airlines offers both scheduled and charter flights as well as package deals. In the regular service it flies within Israel from Eilat to Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion , Tel Aviv-Sde-Dov and Haifa . Cities in Europe are served internationally, as is Munich , the only German-speaking line destination .
