Arno Scheibe (born April 13, 1864 in Piegel , Saxony , † August 18, 1937 in Munich ) was a German ENT doctor and university professor .

Life

In 1891 Arno Scheibe moved to the otiatric outpatient clinic at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich as Friedrich Bezold's assistant and student . Disk, who stood by his teacher until his death in 1908, completed his habilitation there in 1904 as a private lecturer in ear, nose and throat medicine. In 1911, in the successor of Alfred Denker , Scheibe followed the call to the extraordinary professor for ear, nose and throat medicine and the management of the institute of the same name at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . He was promoted to full professor in 1923 and retired in 1929 .

Arno Scheibe, whose research was particularly focused on diseases of the middle ear , died in August 1937 at the age of 73 as a result of a stroke in Munich. He was the father of the physical chemist Günter Scheibe.
