Arnulf von Scheliha (born February 8, 1961 in Kiel ) is a German Protestant theologian and university professor .

Life

Arnulf von Scheliha studied Protestant theology , history and philosophy in Kiel , Munich and Tübingen . In 1991 he was in Kiel with the work of Emanuel Hirsch as dogmatists Dr. theol. PhD . In the same year he became the office of the Church ordained . From 1991 to 1993 von Scheliha worked as a research assistant at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Hamburg until 1998 . In 1997 he completed his habilitation with a study on providential belief in systematic theology at the University of Hamburg. There von Scheliha was a private lecturer for systematic theology from 1997 to 2003 .

From 1998 to 2003 he held the chair for Protestant theology with special focus on social ethics and the history of theology at the Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg . From 2003 to 2014 Arnulf von Scheliha taught as professor for systematic theology at the University of Osnabrück . In the 2009/10 college period he was a fellow at the Center for Religion, Economics and Politics of the Collegium Helveticum in Basel . Since October 1, 2014, von Scheliha has been Professor of Theological Ethics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and Director of the Institute for Ethics and Related Social Sciences (IfES), since February 2017 also Principal Investigator at the Cluster of Excellence “Religion and Politics in Pre-Modern Cultures und der Moderne ”from the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. Since 2019 he has been the chairman of the board of trustees of the Evangelical Central Office for Weltanschauung questions .

On May 15, 2019, Arnulf von Scheliha was accepted into the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts (AWK) - class for humanities.
