Traffic situation

Arpaja Alta is 449 kilometers by road south of Sucre , the capital of the department.

From Sucre, the asphalt national road Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction to Potosí , the capital of the department bordering to the west. From here to the south, Ruta 1 leads , which is still paved for the first 37 kilometers to Cuchu Ingenio . After another 146 kilometers, the Ruta 1 reaches the city of Camargo . Another 19 kilometers south of Camargo, a dirt road branches off in an easterly direction, crosses the Río Camblaya and overcomes a height difference of 600 meters over the next 47 kilometers to Culpina. To the east of Culpina, a road branches off to the northeast and after a further 21 kilometers past Incahuasi it reaches the community of Villa Charcas .

On the northern edge of Villa Charcas, a country road branches off in a north-westerly direction, crosses the Río Papa Chajra and the Quebrada Rosasmayu and after five kilometers reaches the river bed of the Río Terrado, which is followed by the unpaved road four kilometers to the north. It then crosses the river in a westerly direction and after half a kilometer reaches Arpaja Alta .
