The Municipio Villa Charcas is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Villa Charcas is one of four municipalities in the province of Nor Cinti and includes its central area. It borders the Municipio San Lucas to the north, the Municipio Camargo to the west , and the Municipio Incahuasi to the south and southeast .
The municipality extends between about 20 ° 24 'and 20 ° 47' south latitude and 64 ° 39 'and 65 ° 01' west longitude, its expansion from west to east and from north to south is up to 25 kilometers.
The municipality was created on December 23, 2009 by law 4127 by splitting off the northwestern part of the municipality Incahuasi. It includes 61 localidades .

The Municipio Villa Charcas is located on the southern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east. The climate is a cool, moderate mountain climate with a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature differences fluctuate more strongly during the day than during the year.
