The municipality of Camargo is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Camargo is one of three municipalities in the province of Nor Cinti and includes its southwestern area. It borders the Municipio San Lucas to the northwest , the Department of Potosí to the west, the Sud Cinti province to the south , and the Municipio Incahuasi to the east .

The municipality extends between about 20 ° 18 'and 20 ° 55' south latitude and 64 ° 51 'and 65 ° 23' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 50 kilometers, from north to south up to 70 kilometers .

The municipality comprises 117 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village Camargo with 5,173 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.

The municipality of Camargo is located on the southwestern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central , between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands in the east.
