Arrondissement of Ancenis
The District Ancenis was until 31 December 2016 administrative unit in the French department of Loire-Atlantique within the Region Pays de la Loire . The administrative seat ( sub-prefecture ) was Ancenis with its last 61,673 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2014) and an area of 791 km². There were five constituencies ( cantons ) and 29 municipalities in the arrondissement .
The merger with the Arrondissement of Châteaubriant on January 1, 2017 , created the new Arrondissement of Châteaubriant-Ancenis .
