Arthur Rakobrandt (born June 19, 1878 in Steglitz , † June 17, 1948 ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA leader .

Life

After attending high schools in Wriezen , Berlin-Steglitz and Brandenburg, Rakobrandt joined the German Army : On April 1, 1899, he became a flag junior. In 1900 he was promoted to lieutenant , in 1910 to first lieutenant and in 1913 to Rittmeister . From August 1914 to November 1918, Rakobrandt took part in the First World War. During the war he was awarded the Iron Cross of both classes, among other things . After the war he joined a volunteer corps with which he fought in the uprisings in Upper Silesia . He received the Silesian Eagle II class. After all, he was a member of the Reichswehr until 1921 , from which he was removed as a major .

From 1922 to 1927 Rakobrandt was a district manager in the East Prussian Heimatbund. During this time he was also active in the Wehrwolf organization , which is closely related to the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten , and became district leader for the Wehrwolf and Stahlhelm in the Fischhausen district .

In 1927 he moved to Bavaria, where he became NSDAP local group leader in Kiefersfelden-Oberaudorf in 1929.

He joined the National Socialist Sturmabteilung in 1929. After he had been appointed SA Oberführer at the beginning of July 1932, he headed the independent SA sub-group Franconia from that point on until March 1933. Then he was until July 1933 SA special commissioner of the highest SA leadership (OSAF) ​​in the district government of Lower Bavaria-Upper Palatinate. From March 1933 to mid-May 1937 he headed the SA group Bayerische Ostmark from Bayreuth . At the beginning of July 1933 he was promoted to Brigade Leader within the SA and to Gruppenführer two months later.

From November 1933 until the end of the Nazi regime in spring 1945, Rakobrandt sat in the Reichstag as a member of the NSDAP for constituency 34 ( Hamburg ) . On April 1, 1937, Rakobrandt took over the position of regional group leader VII (southern Bavaria) of the Reich Air Protection Association (RLB). On November 9, 1938 he was appointed SA-Obergruppenführer. In early July 1942 he was promoted to Chief of Staff in the Presidium of the RLB with the rank of General Air Defense Leader.
