Arved Conrad Magnus von Brasch (born June 7, 1847 in Rappin ; † March 10, 1899 in Dorpat ) was a German-Baltic state politician , lawyer and district administrator who came from the German-Baltic noble family von Brasch .

Life

Arved Conrad was a student at the grammar school in Dorpat and then attended the Schmidtsche Anstalt in Fellin . From 1866 to 1871 he studied law at the University of Dorpat and passed his law exam in 1872. During his studies he was a member of the corporation "Livonia" . His first legal use was the assessor position at the district court in Dorpat. From 1876 to 1887 he was a member of parliament for the Dorpat and Werro districts and was considered an influential state politician. In 1882 he was a delegate for the Livonian Knighthood at the Baltic Conference. His tenure as district administrator ran from 1887 to 1890. In 1888 he was made an honorary member of the Estonian Scholarly Society . From 1875 to 1878 he owned the Kerimos estate, from 1877 he was co-owner of Ropkoy and Renningshof and from 1884 majorate owner of Aya .

Origin and family

His grandfather was Konrad Siegmund von Brasch (1779–1835). Arved's father was Leonhard Karl Gustav von Brasch (1811–1867), whose brother - thus Arved's uncle - was District Administrator Konrad August von Brasch (1820–1884). Arved's brother was the economist Viktor Ernst Arthur von Brasch (1850–1877), who lived in Saint Petersburg and died there. His mother was Ida von Richter. Arved married Eva von Stackelberg in 1879 . Her descendants were:

  • Margarethe Mary von Brasch (* 1881) ∞ Friedrich Wilhelm von Grotthuss (1870–1926)
  • Elsa Anna von Brasch (1883–1927) ∞ Leo Oskar von Sivers (1875–1937), farmer
  • Arved Nikolai von Brasch (1885–1902)
