The Kleinaschaff is the almost four and a half kilometers long left source stream of the Aschaff in the district of Aschaffenburg in the Bavarian Spessart .
Some see "Kleinaschaff" only as a by-name for the upper reaches of the Aschaff and some maps label this branch of the Aschaff with their names starting at its source.
geography
Aschaff spring
The Kleinaschaff rises southeast of Waldaschaff in a narrow valley in the Waldaschaff forest near Weibersbrunn at the foot of the Eselshöhe ridge . The spring is located on the left slope of the valley and is contained. Right next to it there is a red sandstone boulder with the words "Aschaff-Quelle". At times a stream flows into the source area, which rises further up the valley and east of the motorway, but is dry for most of the time. A 2015 completed viaduct near the source on which the A 3 runs, was named Viaduct Aschaffquelle . The source area was not changed during construction.
course
On the right slope of the northwest running valley of the Kleinaschaff, the A3 accompanies the body of water that takes up the Geißbach and then bends to the north. There the newly built Kauppenbrücke of the A3 spans the lower valley. In Waldaschaff, the Kleinaschaff unites with the slightly shorter Autenbach , which flows from the east from a narrow valley, to form the Aschaff . The piped confluence was exposed again in 2012.

Dates and character
The Kleinaschaff is a coarse material rich, silicate low mountain range. Their chemical and ecological status are both rated as good.
Kauppenbrücke
The valley of the Kleinaschaff is spanned by the Kauppenbrücke , a prestressed concrete box girder bridge with a total length of 490.50 meters. The central field has the largest span with about 95 meters at a height of 55 meters. The Kleinaschaff had to be relocated a little for the construction of the bridge.
