Aserca Airlines was a Venezuelan airline based in Valencia and based at Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Michelena Airport , Valencia.
history
Aserca Airlines (by A ero Ser vicios Ca rabobo) was founded in 1968 as a private airline with small aircraft. In 1992 the airline entered the national scheduled market with a leased Douglas DC-9-30 . Aserca's business was concentrated in the Valencia region, but from 1994 Caracas managed to develop as a hub, which led to a significant growth in market share and an expansion of the route to Bogotá , Lima , Miami and Aruba . Between 1998 and 2001, Aserca owned the majority of the shares in Air Aruba . The airline is owned by Migdalia García (95%) and Simeón García (5%). Since the end of 2007, Aserca has plans to merge with Santa Barbara Airlines . A first Boeing 757 has already been given a combined paint job (SBA Airlines title and Aserca Airlines logo). On February 21, 2018 it was announced that the Venezuelan aviation authority Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil had withdrawn the airline's operating license until further notice. The country's newspapers blame the lack of proof of insurance for the aircraft in the fleet. Aserca Airlines planned to restart operations, but announced the liquidation of the company on May 22, 2018.
