Asowske ( Ukrainian Азовське ; Russian Азовское Asowskoje ) is on the coast of the Azov Sea located village in the southeast of Ukraine Zaporizhia Oblast with about 2500 inhabitants (2016).

history

The village, founded in 1861 by Bulgarians and Gagauz from Bessarabia (a total of 86 families) as a colony of Ivaniwka ( Іванівка ) had 1,212 inhabitants on January 1, 1911. Between 1922 and 2016 the village was called Lunacharske ( Луначарське ) and then received its current name in the course of decommunization in Ukraine .

Azovsk is the only village in the district of the same name in the south of Berdyansk Raion .

The village is located at the mouth of the 29 km long Kuza Berdjanka ( Куца Бердянка ) in the Sea of ​​Azov, 2.5 km west of the Berdjansk district center and about 200 km southeast of the Zaporizhia Oblast center .

The international trunk road M 14 / E 58 and the national trunk road N 30 (the former regional road P-37 ) run through the village .
